And Then There Were Three!

Folks, there is a reason why this blog hasn’t been updated in a while. This week I finished a major assignment that God had asked me to do. Here’s the scoop:

I started a book titled “Where Are the Warriors?” a couple of years ago, but had been poking around on it and never finished it. God hit me upside my head recently and told me to finish it. So I did. I also wrote my third book and it is now ready to be published. Here is the current line up and status:

“Where Are the Warriors?”

This book is getting rave reviews from everyone who has read a copy of the manuscript. It is over 300 pages long and 82,000 words. There has never been a book like this anywhere on any shelf. It is the quintessential book for Christian men. It was immediately picked up by Tate Christian Publishing company. I hope you men have the guts to finish that book. It will change your life.

“Discover How to Bust Your Man!”

This controversial book for Christian women is the ultimate guide for accountability. It is a step-by-step system on how to catch men cheating, looking at porn, and attending strip clubs. It was quickly snatched up by Publish America who purchased the manuscript. After a long battle with their highly paranoid legal department, the book is ready to fly off the printing presses soon. This book will give any Christian man with a secret life the fear of God.

“It’s Not OK!”

This book was written at the request of God. I know that sounds strange. But He asked me to do it immediately after I finished “Where Are the Warriors?”. It is a short and powerful book which contains seventeen things that Christian men already know but need to be reminded of occasionally. At less than 70 pages, it is concentrated. And will be in the 7” by 5” hard bound format.

Because there is a national minister also named Steve Foss that I want absolutely NOTHING to do with, I have written all three books under the pseudonym Jude Benedict.

So I am done writing for the minute. I am going to reacclimatize myself to life again and wait until they start coming off the presses. Then I will take my time with a novel I will write about the end time titled “Surviving the Mark of The Beast” which will address all this “left behind pretribulation rapture” nonsense.

Thanks for your patience friends. I’ll update this blog with regularity again.

    Or should I say...Jude !!
Or do you prefer Monsignor Benedict?

    Excitement.
I can't wait to check out them their books a' yourn. ...Can I request autographed copies ?? *cough*

I wish I had known earlier...otherwise I would have been, like, pestering you for peeks at manuscripts. :)

Kudos to you for not feeling bound/desperate to/for a publisher...I like that you take care in how your book is presented to "the world".

My brain is fried at the current moment, and suffering from headache-cloud in the eye-cavity region, so I can't really say much that's incisive or intelligent.

BUT...I CAN thank you for the AWESOME and ENCOURAGING return voicemail you left Ben a little while ago. Your voice = funness :)

  3. Oh my gosh! Two of the best posters on the entire web grace me with their presence. Thanks!

Jesska sings like an angel and rocks the world of contemporary Christian music. You Go Girl! God is listening (and maybe tapping His foot). I have a good feeling about all you C.R. people.

And the esteemed Leonard A. The rumors of his untimely death have been greatly exagerated. I'll soon have three books to put into your hand comrade! So you buy the wings.

Ruth 2:12 to all of you!

  5. You have intelligent readers who, I'm sure, would enjoy hitting Google and typing in "Pretrib Rapture Desperados," "Deceiving and Being Deceived," and "Pretrib Rapture Diehards" - all by a historian whose book "The Rapture Plot" (Armageddon Books) is currently a bestseller. God bless. Irv

    Dear Steve,

It is awesome you are tackling the issue of porn, especially in "christian men". I appreciate you boldness and very much believe God is calling us to a holy life. I also believe that the fear of God will deliver many.

Just a question. Why are you so oppossed to the nationally known Steve Foss?

  8. Ahhh, I knew this would eventually come up. Mark 9:40 is crystal clear that anyone who is not against us is for us. Those words came from the Lord himself. And I have watched some of the DVD teachings from my brother with the same name and he is very good on teaching about deliverance from captivity. He definitely has a charisma. But some of his methods are diametrically opposed to mine.

I don't believe that "slaying people in the spirit" is from God. Period! There is no scripture to support people flopping around uncontrollably "under the power". But people want an experience...so they get one with many national ministers. And the enemy loves it. We are told to let everything be done decently and in order. (1 Cor 14:40) The Holy Spirit is a gentleman, not a WWF body slammer.

I was scheduled to speak at a funeral recently and they almost canceled because they Googled my name and came up with his site. When they realized I am not the same person, I was back on the agenda.

The same body has many parts, and a place for all kinds of ministers. As long as we all point to the same God and Savior Jesus Christ, then we are co-heirs with Jesus and on the same team.

I wish my comrade in the Gospel much success and favor in his ministry.

Church history from ALL the major denominations is filled with strange physical manifestations. EVERY recorded majoe revival in history had strange physicsal manifestations.

The verses you refered to about decently and in order is NOT correctly inturpeted by you. In the origanal language the word decently means "honestly" and in order mean "in timely secession" the context was each one should honestly and one by one give there tounges. inetrpetations, and or prophecies. It had NOTHING to do with people being slayed in the spirit or any other manifestation.

I have no problem with someone no approving of these manifestations but to imply they are of the devil, "belzibub" is possibly blasphemy. The Baptist history is repleat with such manifestation and is full of it today, and well accepted, but almost exclusively overseas. Only here in the US are we so closed to the possibility that God may actually be involved in such things just because WE,the almighty carries of truth, haven't experienced it.

We may have ligitamate questions and I am sure there are many abuses that occur, as we see in any part of the body of Christ, but we must not just reject something because it doesn't line up with what we think. Is the fruit of a changed christ like life evident. A pursuit of holiness, Christ exaltation, and self denial. If Christ is being preached as the ONLY way then I rejoice.

Anyway I am not trying to be hard on you at all. And I can definately understand your concerns. I just think we far too often distance ourselves from our brothers over differences instead of focusing on where we agree.

  10. Thanks anonymous for the comments. Let me address some of the things you said.

If you do some research on the Greek words from Thayer’s Lexicon of Greek you will find that the word translated “decently” means “in a seemly manner”. And the word translated “in order” means “due or right order, in an orderly condition”. When you said that it had nothing to do with being “slayed in the spirit” you were absolutely right. There is not one single scripture in the entire Bible where this manifestation of being slammed to the floor to flop around like a fish on a pier is mentioned as being a part of God. NOT ONE! I don’t doubt that the manifestation exists. Ask the Benny Hinn devotees. But it isn’t of God my friend.

I’m not sure where you got the idea that I think Beelzebub is involved. That is a strange one I must admit.

If you want to slay your friends and family in the spirit…go right on ahead. You were right when you said that it is “well accepted”. So will taking the mark of the beast be accepted. And people will think it is of God all the way to hell. These are times where we need to be wise as serpents. And prove all things. Jesus said that even the very elect could be deceived. And you and I my friend are “the very elect”.

I said in my previous post that if the other Steve Foss isn’t against Jesus he is for Him. I cast no stones at him. We are on the same team. He just has a different delivery method to the grace from God than I do. And who am I to judge another man’s servant?

I wish you all the best anonymous. And I hope truth reigns in your life. Our God is good all the time.

“decently” means “in a seemly manner. translated twice as honestly. In the context of the subject paul was dealing with many people all speaking in tounges at once and was trying to correct that. he then added instruction on prophecy. The “in order” means “due or right order, in an orderly condition” speaks of timely succestion. In other words one after another.

I believe you err in one fundamental doctrine. Because the "slain in the spirit" as you have describe it does appear in scripture. Although there is some arguement to that. But for the sake of this point lets say you are right. The false belief that if it doesn't appear in scripture it isn't valid is incorrect. The scripture according to itself was not a complete listing of all the works/miracles of jesus. Quite the opposite is true.

    Joh 21:25
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

Why is it that only when it comes to manifestations that poeple say. Well I didn't see that in the bible. 90% of what comes from our pulpits isn't literally "in te bible." But stories, analogies, new songs, that are all good, Godly, and anointed by God are rightly used every sunday.

remember these words of jeramiah in the context of this conversation.

    Jer 23:9
Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.

He shook, and was like a drunken man. Now I find it interesting that the appearance of these manifestation that were talking about STARTED in times of real rivival, pursuit of holiness, and brokeness before God. Strong physical manifestation have accompanied EVERY significant revival in church history. From the book of acts on forward.

Anyway I am not trying to convince you. Somebody else already has.

Blessings again to you for all the good work you do. I hope you too Steve foss's get to meet one day. You might actually like each other I suspect.

  12. Thanks for the comments anonymous. I am so glad that YOU brought out Jeremiah 23 and not me. Anyone who reads the context of that chapter will see that it is all about God's pastors being complete fakes, and His prophets being liars. And the next time you see a person being dropped to the floor "drunk in the spirit" ask yourself if that person is lamenting the condition of God's holy church, or are they self seeking a powerful experience.

I guess the Holy Spirit has gone from "Spirit of truth" and "Comforter" to bartender.

And that is the end of that. Every other time in scripture you see a man fall to the ground because of a visitation from God, the Lord immediately tells him to get up. Why doesn't God just cover them up with a blanket and let them flop around for a while? Because our Lord knows where that power comes from.

Like signs? Just wait until the false prophet calls down fire from heaven on CNN quoting scriptures the whole time. He will eat unknowledgeable Christians for lunch.

I too hope that the two Steve Fosses get to meet. We will tape the whole thing and see if either of us drop to the floor in a Bennigan's restaurant.

I appreciate lively debate because it makes us all better people. We have to know what we believe, because these are dark times where truth is getting obscured.

I wish everyone who reads this the best. Let's all have a great 2008, and honor God with all we do.

    Steve
